Morbid curiousity
This exhibit was actually quite fascinating. It was definitely different and odd. The first piece that I looked at was life's a dream and then you wake up. I think that's what it was called. For some reason I found myself smiling at the piece. I think it was the quote that bordered the edges of the piece. At the first look I kind of missed the actual picture and focused mainly on the expression. It took me a while to try to try to figure out what that expression was all about. I thought maybe it meant life is a dream and death is waking up. But I feel unoriginal with that conclusion. Then I actually noticed the picture the second time around I looked at it. The half woman/ half skeleton was detailed with smeared handprints and the facial expressions were really defined. A small Mickey mouse hat floated on top of the head. A human hand with scribbles pointed and touched a hand that looked like Mickey mouses hand. The bottom was a sea of red and a small paper boat sailed the red sea on the right. Obviously it had some affect on me because I can picture it perfectly. But it left me stumped. Another thing I found interesting was a pair of artists. I think they were called guerra de la Paz? But their stuff left me kind of wowed. Not only are their pieces really cool because I have never seen art made out of clothing. It was also quite incredible. All the pieces with the army clothing were fascinating. Even the colorful hill thing that looked like the mop thing from pacman was interesting. It made more sense when I read the description. I really enjoyed morbid curiousity and all that weirdness.
